Umoja Forum™

Fostering collaboration, cross-cultural understanding, and synergy between African American and African immigrant communities.

Overview

The MAC Foundation’s Umoja Forum™ program is dedicated to fostering collaboration, cross-cultural understanding and synergy between African American and African immigrant communities. Through dialogue, education, service, and trade, we have worked since July 2022, to build a stronger, more inclusive community while promoting economic empowerment and global connections.

Program Mission

We recognize that by bridging the gap between African American and African immigrant communities, we can create a more unified and powerful voice for change. Our Umoja Forum™  provides opportunities for meaningful engagement, cultural exchange, and economic development to uplift both communities.

What We Offer

  • Community Forums & Live Events: Umoja Forum hosts interactive discussions—both online and in person—to provide a safe and inclusive space for dialogue. Our events encourage participants to share experiences, address common challenges, and build lasting relationships.
  • Workshops & Training: We offer educational sessions on cultural sensitivity, conflict resolution, leadership development, and business growth. These workshops help foster understanding, promote entrepreneurship, and equip individuals with skills to drive change.
  • Trade & Business Development: Umoja Forum promotes trade and investment relations between Africa and the United States by connecting entrepreneurs, small business owners, and investors. Through networking events, trade missions in partnership with the Midlands African Chamber, market insights, and business partnerships, we help foster economic opportunities and strengthen cross-continental ties.
  • Service & Volunteer Initiatives: By engaging in hands-on community service, we address key social issues such as healthcare access, education, and economic disparities. Our partnerships with local and international organizations create volunteer opportunities that allow African American and African immigrant communities to work together for meaningful impact.
  • Healthcare & Advocacy Efforts: Recognizing disparities in maternal health, chronic disease prevention, and access to medical resources, Umoja Forum supports public health initiatives that educate and empower communities to seek better healthcare solutions.
  • Youth & Leadership Development: By investing in mentorship, leadership training, and entrepreneurship programs, we empower young people with the tools they need to succeed and drive change in their communities.
